What are the Four Spiritual Laws in the Qur'an?

The Four Spiritual Laws in the Qur’an are a way of sharing the good news of the salvation. The Qur’an is telling us:

"Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted." (Qur'an 6:103)

This refers to the fact that only God can tell about God. With human thinking you will never understand God, only when God will tell you, you will understand. The Four Spiritual Laws in the Qur’an are a simple way of organizing the important information in the Qur’an into four points.

First Law: How to have a happy life

The first of the Four Spiritual Laws is, "God is our Creator, Who has granted us life and breath and everything, and has revealed himself to mankind that we may seek Him and know Him:

“Have you not seen that Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth? If He wills, He can do away with you and produce a new creation“ (Qur’an 14:19).

God is so loving and caring of his people that he sent them messages, to show them how they can lead a happy life here on earth and everlasting life in Paradise. What is blocking us from God's goodness? What is preventing us from having an abundant life?

Second Law: Disobedience will be punished

The second of the Four Spiritual Laws is that, there is punishment for those who disobey the commandments of God. The result of sin is serious. The Qur’an is telling us that the man who is disobedient to God’s law will not live: “So each We seized for his sin” (Qur´an 29:40). For people who have broken the law, the future looks bad: “And ‘O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers’" (Qur’an 7:19). Adam and Eve had no immediate forgiveness, because they could not go back to Paradise (Qur’an 20:123). God created us to have a relation with him. However, people brought sin into the world. Therefore we are separated from God. The result of sin is pain, suffering and death. How can we solve this problem?

Third Law: The sacrifice for your sin

The third of the Four Spiritual Laws is that the Lamb of God is the solution for our sin. In order that we may be saved, God provided a mighty sacrifice for our sin: the Lamb of God. The son of Abraham was ransomed with a mighty sacrifice (Qur´an 37:99-110). The death of the animal was accepted by God as a substitute sacrifice in the place of the one who was condemned to death. Abraham’s son would not be offered again since the animal had taken his place. This judgment would never face him again because God provided for Himself a sacrifice which was accepted as a substitute in his sight. The Good News for you is that such a sacrifice is also available for your sin: Jesus is the Lamb of God that also died for your sin. The righteous Jesus Christ (Qur´an 19:19) was the messenger of God who was killed. His death and resurrection is a sign to all mankind and a mercy of God. The Sign of Jesus Christ (Qur’an 3:50) is the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified and is the mercy of God by the Savior Jesus Christ, the solution for the sin of mankind. Jesus Christ died in your place, he rose from the dead (Qur’an 4:158). Jesus Christ is God’s only solution for your sin. With Jesus Christ you will know and experience the goodness of God and the plan of God with your life. How to receive this?

Fourth Law: Repentance and faith

The Fourth of the Four Spiritual Laws is, "Believe in Jesus Christ as Savior to receive the gift of salvation and to know God's goodness in our lives." You need to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then you will know and experience God's goodness and plan for your life. To receive the benefits of Jesus Christ's sacrifice, you must repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The Qur’an does mention certainty about going to Paradise for a believer in Jesus Christ (Qur’an 2:62, 5:69). Only then may you will escape the punishment that you deserved. The Bible is telling us in Acts 16:31: "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved!" Have you made a decision for Jesus Christ because of what you have read here?

Pray to receive Jesus Christ into your heart:

“Lord Jesus Christ, I have sinned. Forgive me this wrong. I believe You died for me on the cross. Come into my heart. Save my soul right now. Thank You, for saving me. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen.”

In case this is the desire of your heart, your change of thinking results in another lifestyle - a noticeable conversion. Find a Bible believing and disciple making church for your spiritual growth.

God bless you.
