Qur'an 3:55 and 4:158: Did Jesus rise from the dead?

Allah raised Jesus to himself:

"Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise" (Qur’an 4:158).

The Most High has power to raise Jesus to himself and this is confirmed in the Gospel:

"After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God" (Mark 16:19).

The Qur’an is telling us that Allah outsmarted the plots of men:

"And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners" (Qur’an 3:54).

God’s wisdom is revealed by the Holy Spirit. The Bible explains the plans of the Most High:

"No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” - the things God has prepared for those who love him these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words" (1 Corinthians 2:7-13).

According to the Qur’an, the day Jesus Christ was raised, was blessed:

"And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive" (Qur’an 19:33).

It is important to believe the truth that Jesus died and raises alive. The Bible says:

"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come" (Ephesians 1:18-21).

God raised Jesus Christ from death and got victory over the unbelievers. This was a great victory and the Most High is all-powerful:

"When Allah said, ’O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ’" (Qur’an 3:55).

The Gospel is telling us that Jesus rose from the dead:

“The Lord has risen indeed” (Luke 24:34).

The earlier prophets are still in their graves today, but Jesus Christ has risen from the death. The fact that Jesus Christ rose from the dead is evidence that he is the Savior of the world.
