The Qur’an: a blessing for mankind?

Many Muslims cannot stop praising the Qur’an as last revelation to mankind, prediction of scientific discoveries and for poetic beauty. But what about the benefits of the Qur’an for society?

Guidelines about moral

It cannot be denied that there are some guidelines for discipline and moral life in the Qur’an, including instructions to stimulate a higher moral: “O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah as just witnesses; and let not the hatred of a people make you avoid justice. Be just; what is next to piety, and fear Allah for Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do. “(Qur’an 5:8). But unfortunately there are other verses that downplay human values in society by hate against other people in Qur’an 48:29 and many other verses. The world news in 21-st century is too much filled with terror of Muslims motivated by such verses. It downplayed Islam as a moral religion.

Qur’an has focus on Arabs

The Qur’an says that it is a message for Arabs: “We have revealed the Qur’an in the Arabic tongue so that you may grow in understanding. (Qur’an 12:1). See also Qur’an 2:7, 12:1-2, 20:113, 39:28, 41:31 and 16:103.

Muslims have a hard job to defend the Qur’an as a blessing for mankind in our modern society.
